One of the newest types of facial cleansers to hit the market are cleansing lotions. They are more gentle than soap, but still whisk away dirt and makeup to leave clean, smooth skin. Many people with sensitive skin turn to cleansing lotions or even oils for effective cleansing that is not drying and does not cause skin reactions. In the category with cleansing oils and lotions are also cleansing milks. There is no lather but the skin is cleansed as if it were washed with soap.
La Mer, a highly renowned company, makes a lotion for cleansing the skin that is applied, massaged in with warm water then rinsed off. The result is clean skin that still has moisture. This product can also be tissued off, however skin should still be rinsed a few times. While this product is by no means cheap, it is highly rated by users and something you may want to splurge on if you are able to do so. This product works much like a toner in that it is applied with cotton pads and not washed off. For puffy eyes or red skin you can soak cotton pads in this lotion and use them as a soothing compress.
